Comparison

UniKiosk vs OptiSigns

OptiSigns is a broad cloud platform with a large app library and integrations into the tools an office already uses. UniKiosk trades all of that for having nothing between you and the screen.

Where UniKiosk wins

Twenty-six widgets, all rendering locally, plus a kiosk lockdown and a console on the device. Your data goes to the panel, not through a platform.

Where OptiSigns wins

A very large library of data apps and integrations, scheduling, multi-user roles, and players for almost every platform. If your board is mostly other people's data, it is well suited to that.

Straight answer

Which one you should pick.

Choose UniKiosk if

  • The content is yours and should not pass through a third party.
  • You are counting per-screen cost across a lot of screens.
  • The screen has to be locked down as well as playing.
  • The site has poor or intermittent connectivity.

Choose OptiSigns if

  • Your boards are built mostly from SaaS integrations — Google Slides, Power BI, social feeds.
  • You need role-based access for several people across teams.
  • You want one dashboard for screens across many sites.

Questions

On this comparison.

Can UniKiosk show a Google Slides deck?

Through the web-frame widget pointed at a published deck URL, yes — but that needs internet, and it is not a native integration. If your boards are built from SaaS apps, OptiSigns is a better fit.

Does UniKiosk have user roles?

Not yet. There is one console password per panel, and the on-device admin PIN.

How does it cope on a bad connection?

Better, because it does not need one. The board is on the device; only widgets that fetch will hold stale values.

Test it against your bill.

Put UniKiosk on one spare screen for a week. 451 boards are already written, and there is nothing to cancel afterwards.
